I enjoy putting words to feelings and shining a light in dark places.

We All Need Someone Who Just “Gets It”, so that we know we aren’t alone.

I’m that someone.

It’s very easy to feel alone when you’re the “only”.

You wonder if you belong, if you have a voice, or if you’re seen. This leaves a lot of our most valuable individuals actually sitting quietly in the background, holding all of their gifts and great ideas inside. They manage, they keep functioning, but never at the level they’re truly capable of.

My passion is helping others feel seen and heard so that they can become their most authentic selves and reach their fullest potential.

I have a lot of experience being the “only” in the room. The only black woman in the room. The only infertile woman in a room of moms. The only adult in a room full of teens.  Rather than feeling othered and isolated however, I’ve found that these experiences have actually gifted me the opportunity to listen, observe, and identify the things that make us all more alike than different.

Using this hard-won wisdom (read: I used to cry about this stuff) and my inherited wit and love of storytelling , I help others reach similar revelations about themselves and the world around them. I believe that sharing our stories and illuminating the dark places where our truths hide is how we can connect and heal.

Reproductive Health Advocacy

For more than a decade, I’ve provided an honest and personal look at the ways that infertility intersects physical, emotional, and mental health. Using my personal experience as a base, I speak candidly about how and why infertility and reproductive health should be normalized and not scandalized.

Young Adult/Teen Advocacy/Leadership Development

With over 15 years of experience as a youth librarian and teen specialist, I share engaging and practical tips on how to serve and advocate for library staff and patrons, and the unique audience of young adults by listening to and engaging them.
